Michael Prue Pre-Vote Interview

Saturday, March 7th, 2009

We shot this interview with Michael Prue after his final speech and before the first round of voting results were announced. While Prue has been eliminated after the first ballot, the answers he gives are very illuminating as to issues the NDP will need to address. Thanks go to Michael Prue and his campaign for making time to speak with us.

Andrea Horwath Interview

Monday, March 2nd, 2009

Andrea Horwath is definitely an impressive politician. She kicked off her campaign later than others, and has been viewed by many as the under dog, but quite possibly could surprise a lot of folks in Hamilton. She is well spoken, passionate and her life story represents the right reasons for entering public life. As in 2004 when Horwath won the seat of Hamilton East and restored party status to the NDP, she brings a sense of renewal to this race as well.

Peter Tabuns Interview

Sunday, March 1st, 2009

Peter Tabuns is an interesting guy to say the least. He is ballsy which is something I admire in a politician. He isn’t afraid of a principled fight, but doesn’t go out seeking them. He’s won some, lost some but always found opportunity to continue his work, even in defeat. From talking to him, it also became clear he has a strong sense of what he thinks is the right thing to do, and deals the repercussions as they come. The ‘New Energy Economy’ is a plan that calls for a major re-tooling of industry in Ontario, and regardless of one’s support for the plan it is comprehensive, bold and a gamble.
